The Connecticut Women's Consortium: Why Race Matters

A full day workshop that explores our knowledge and awareness of the history of race and racism and how this history shapes our social and cultural identity, power structures, and institutions to include the housing, education, criminal justice systems. Participants will review music, advertising, comedy, poetry, literature, and engage in activities that examine stereotypes and racism in our society. The facilitators will share their experiences with racism and offer strategies to unmask, dismantle, and eradicate racism in our personal, inter-personal, institutional and cultural realms.
